Novastar is a Belgian band, with Joost Zweegers as the lead singer who also plays the piano. Joost Zwegers uses his pure, high voice in combination with his piano play. Other band members are Lars van Bambost on guitar, Cathy-Ann van Volsem, Karel De Backer on drums and Jang Coenen* palying bass.

Novastar is known for its deep, emotional ballads and makes an emotionally tense and melodic kind of rock somewhere in between Crowded House and Counting Crows.

Novastar is very popular in Belgium and The Netherlands. Songs as ‘The best is yet to come’ and ‘Never back down’ were hits.
