7 ways to become ultimate indie

13 October 2006

Do you like indie music? Alternative, not so likeable by your younger sister? You’re on the right way to unveil new ways to become ultimative indie fan. Ultra hard indie fan, as you wish.

Last.fm Sign up at last.fm, a-must for everyone who wants to discover new indie music.
I was really impressed by its initial thought – to show you new layers of great music by similar music neighbors and by similar artists. Your will really find some great stuff there. Just listen…

Last.fm radio Two entries of this list for last.fm?
Yes, it worth it. Because even when you will be fed up with last.fm web, you cannot cloy with last.fm radio service. Listening through tags like indie, will bring you plethora of new stuff.

O.C mania Seth Cohen, prominent indie geek. No? So have a look at this stuff.
Oh yes, there are Rooney. But real greatness are tracks behind the cover of Cohen’s iPod. Try Damien Rice. You will love this man.

Look beyond borders of US Ireland is not only country of U2 or Enya, and Frames are not only for your geek posters.
And if you think that Canadian music sucks, apart of Celine Dion, try listening to something indieesh – Arcade Fire or Wolf Parade.

Other sites, like Amazon offer great features like Listmania, where you can find really great stuff. Some lists are worth reading and those cds are worth buying… You know more heads more knows…

Community is great base for new ideas. Not myspace with those teenage girls and boys babbling about pop punk. Once I was contacted by some nice fan of indie music on Soulseek (nice file sharing service) and by then I know L’Altra, really enjoyable music.

And of course, best source for new fresh indie sauce is indie-planet.net. You can subscribe our feed, save our site to your favorites.
