Matt Pond PA

31 October 2006

Matt Pond PA is an indie band formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1998 by Matt Pond (singer, songwriter), Josh Kramer (guitarist, bassist), Rosie McNamara-Jones (violinist), Jim Hostetter (cellist), and Sean Byrne (drummer). They debuted in year 1998 with Deer Apartments.

Matt Pond is the only remaining original member because the band had a break when Pond moved to New York where he played with Brian Pearl (guitars, piano), Dan Crowell (drums), and Daniel Mitha (bass).

Together they recorded Emblems, which was released on Altitude in May 2004. Several Arrows Later, which also included the debut of cellist Dana Feder, followed in October. In early 2006, Mitha departed matt pond PA and was replaced by Steve Jewett.

The band’s music has been included in the soundtrack for the FOX television program *The OC*, for example especially for the show recorded cover version of Oasis’ Champagne Supernova.
