Varsity Interpretive Dance Squad
The Varsity Interpretive Dance Squad (VIDS) is a New York City – based comedy/dance formation known for their satirical take on High School pep squads and their appearance in the music video for Moby’s “New York New York”.
Currently, the Squad is comprised of three individuals, Tiff (Amelia Zirin-Brown), PJ Buttoms (Hall Carlough), and the Squad’s Captain Dickie (Richard H. DiBella). In the “New York New York” Moby ft. Debbie Harry video VIDS is joined by Tammy (Bridget Everett). THE VARSITY INTERPRETIVE DANCE SQUAD (VIDS) was formed to propagate the idea that unhappiness, inequality and injustice will all be prevented, discouraged and eventually abolished with the power of WHOLE WORLD DANCE, a concept that requires every human on our planet to simultaneously all together in unison together dance the same moves all together at the same time.
VIDS has performed at such New York venues at Ars Nova[1], P.S. 122, Galapagos, Mo Pitkin’s, Rubulad, The Slipper Room and The Cock. Elsewhere: The Crooked Mirror (Edinburgh, Scotland), and Mt.
